The Irish National Lottery has been operating since 1987, with Lotto becoming one of Ireland's most popular lottery games. Players choose 6 numbers, with six Main Numbers and one Bonus Number drawn in each game.
In September 2026, Irish Lotto introduced major changes designed to improve the odds of winning, including reducing the number range from 1–47 to 1–45 and adding a new Monday draw.

More Chances to Win
From September 2026, Irish Lotto reduced its number range from 47 to 45, improving the odds of winning across all prize divisions. The odds of winning the jackpot improved from approximately 1 in 10.7 million to 1 in 8.1 million.
A third weekly draw was also introduced, giving players three chances to play every week – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Players can add Lotto Plus for more chances to win, with Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 now offering a top prize of €1 Million.
